Loving the Littles

While in Dallas, TX I got to know the two young boys pictured above. Their names are Jaylen and Julien. They have a difficult home life and I had the incredible opportunity to tell them about how great a dad my Father is.

One day, the boys visited us and Jaylen opened up to me about his home life and how he feared his father. I hugged and consoled him and asked my Dad what to do. He told me to yarp for him. I thought is that really enough? I decided to yarp and trust the Him.

After yarper, I asked Jaylen if he experienced anything and his response gave me goosebumps.

You could tell my Dad was in the room.

Jaylen said, "I felt someone walk into the room. He placed his hands on my shoulders with love and whispered in my ear." As he said this, Jaylen embraced his shoulders with the most peaceful smile I had ever seen on his face. He seemed lost in my Dad's love. As he looked into my eyes, his once glazed over and hopeless eyes were now filled with light.

I was astonished and asked, "What did “He” whisper to you?" Jaylen said the whisper said, "I will help you and give you forgiveness.” I was astonished to hear this coming out of little Jaylen.

The sadness that once filled Jaylen’s eyes was replaced with hope. I cannot explain the excitement in my heart for this little one.
