“Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God. Oh, it chases me down, fights 'til I'm found, leaves the 99… I don't deserve it … There's no shadow You won't light up, mountain You won't climb up, no wall You won't kick down, lie You won't tear down coming after me”

– Reckless Love by Cory Asbury – Bethel Music

I’d say it’s the most popular Christian song right now. However, do we really understand its message?!?

Recently, while serving with Women of Alabaster (an anti-trafficking ministry in downtown Cincinnati), I was at the end of myself. My strength to love was running out. I was ready to quit, but then I heard God calmly say,

“Reckless love...

Do you DARE to love like I do?”

Some days, sadness tries to overwhelm us as we watch the girls suffer. Some days there seems to be no hope. Some days we see victory. However, every day I have to choose His reckless love! I pray that through these stories you’d be inspired to love greater and live from His heart, His love.

TESTIMONIES OF HIS RECKLESS LOVE

(names changed for privacy)

[endif]--In September 2017, I met a girl named Joanie. She supported her drug habit through prostitution. Despite severe abuse throughout her life, she still had a beautiful heart and sweet smile. One day during bible study we read a passage about angels. Nonchalantly she piped up, “Yeah. I know angels.” She went on to tell us that angels kept her warm at night when she hid, outside in the middle of winter, from the hardships of her childhood. She said, “My spot was behind a bush. I was never cold there. The angels kept me alive.” His love is so amazing! Jesus really does leave the 99 to find the one and is recklessly patient for the day when we realize who we are in Him. After Bible study that day, she went out onto the street for drugs and was arrested. Immediately, we started praying that during her time in jail she’d get clean and stay clean! She’d relapsed many times before, but we believed for a miracle. As of June 2018, she’s been clean 140 days! WOW! We’re so excited and proud of her! She’s claimed her identity and victory in Jesus! Keep Joanie in your prayers!

Another friend of mine, Jenny, had been living the life for years. 2 years ago she was extremely skinny and had an abscess and infection on her arm that never stopped filling with puss. She had to change the dressings 3 times a day. She feared going to the doctor, scared she may lose her arm. She had been getting to know Jesus through our ministry’s influence. So, Jenny came to WOA and received prayer for healing. That night the infection and constant puss stopped! Then the next morning, her arm was completely healed and scabbed over. She knew it was the Lord. It has been a journey with Jenny but eventually she was ready for long-term change. As of June 2018, she has been clean for 18 months! That’s 540+ days! Go Jenny! Go God!

[endif]--This past week I talked with a girl trying to leave the life. She told me an incredible story. First though, I want to point out that she told me this story like you’d tell someone about going to the grocery store. She said, “This past week, I was crossing the street when a car whipped around the corner. He hit me and there was a 6 car pile-up. I felt something take me under the arms, lift me up, and place me on top of the car that hit me. I was untouched. No scraps or cuts. Everyone around me was shocked as I just walked away.” Whaaaaat![endif]--

Stories like these are regular for the women we minister to. Regularly, our amazing Father God shows up to meet these women in crisis. He is relentless. He is reckless. He is jealous for their hearts to know Him. He stops at nothing. It’s His reckless love!

Do you dare to

love like He does?
