Simple Obedience = The Miraculous

God said, “Go to the market.” In obedience, we went deep in the village to the bustling market but nothing “miraculous” happened. I thought, “Lord we were obedient. Why did nothing happen?” I did however, make a relationship with sweet little Bendita, who spoke a little English. She tightly grasped my hand as we walked with a priceless smile.
Then, on our way home, an elderly woman cried out to us for prayer. We never would have met her if we hadn’t gone to the market! The Lord led us to her because of our obedience.
She sat slumped over on the ground, in the dirt.
My heart sank as I thought, “How many endless hours has she sat here, desperate for mercy, in pain?”
We took her to sit on her bed in her mud house. Then we noticed one of her legs was shorter than the other. Using hand motions and Bendita’s help, we communicated Jesus was going to heal her legs.

As I held her legs out in my hands, one of them grew out about 2 inches. I’d never seen this before with my own eyes, so I thought, “No way God!”
I then sensed to sing the only song I knew in Makua, the local tribal language,
“Kushukuru Jesu”
or thank you Jesus in English.
The woman joined in with me in song and the whole room was blasted with the presence of God. Tears of joy fell down her cheeks. We then sat in silence for about 10 minutes and watched God work in her heart. It was so beautiful!
I’m not sure if the woman accepted Jesus that day or not due to my limited Makua, but she sure did meet Him! When we walk in obedience and stop for the one, heaven comes to Earth and we’ll see the miraculous!
