Story 1: Min Ji Moon asked an atheist Korean girl at UNC, “Do you believe there is a God?” She said, "I’m not too sure there is a God but I am interested. Some of my Christian friends talk about him but can’t understand how a good God does evil things. Why do evil things happen? Isn’t God in control?” My friend Minji and I went on to share with her that when the world was created by God everything, was good with no evil. However, when Eve chose to act on the evil within Satan’s temptation, sin entered the world. Evil entered the world through Eve but was never a part of God’s plan. She seemed intrigued by this. We then went on to have a deep conversation about evil in society and she seemed to be having some major worldview changes about who God’s character. By the end of the conversation, she was willing make a commitment to having an open heart for God to speak to her. We prayed for her. The conversation began with her being an atheist, to someone who was seriously interested in God. Awesome! Love it!

Story 2: Sometimes, you can sense a darkness in the atmosphere. In these times, I ask for discernment from the Lord, and he shows me what to do to press through. While at UNC alongside a student named Lili, I felt a similar darkness, placing fear in my heart for no apparent reason. So, I prayed and asked God, “If there is someone here who needs you right now, lead us to them.” Soon after, Lili said she felt God wanted us to turn left, so we did. Right around the bend we noticed a girl with her head in her hands, crying. As we approached, Debbie was apprehensive about us but as we sat together she opened up about her stressful situation. As a child she had a surgery on her throat that left much scar tissue, leaving her constantly sick. She explained that she was overwhelmed because she was having a surgery on her throat, was having major family problems, and was having difficulty with her professors releasing her for surgery as it was exam week. Debbie couldn’t see a light at the end of the tunnel. She was also leading a Bible study at the campus. I shared with her how God had led us to her that day. Then, Lili shared a story with Debbie about how a heavy door fell on her head, giving her a concussion during an exam week while in college. Through the whole ordeal, God gave Lili a peace beyond all understanding. We prayed for that same peace to fill Debbie up. After prayer, she seemed to have a new joy about her, a peace beyond understanding. She was so thankful, smiling. Her whole demeanor was changed. I love how God leads us to those who are follows of him. He encourages them, letting them know He is with them and sees them.
