Our students I trained this winter went to the mostly unreached
Huichol people of Tepic, Mexico.
Here’s how the He used our students to reach them:
Story #1
“I met Mary, who taught me her trade of cross-stitching. Neither of us could speak each other’s language, however, we still created a lovely friendship. On the last day in the village, I met with Mary one last time. She gave a gift of a bracelet that she’d made just for me. I wasn't prepared with a gift, so I quickly ran to get a Spanish Bible that we brought with us. When I got back to Mary, I shared with her why we came to her village. I told her about Jesus and a smile shown across her face. She had never heard of him! I went through the Bible with her and showed her verses about how we don't have to be afraid because God will take care of us. She gladly accepted the Bible saying she would read it every day and share what she learned with her children. So, God used me to plant a very BIG physical seed in Mary and her family's life.” ~ Chloe (a DTS student)
God is continuing to do a great work amongst the Huichol. Missionaries there are continuing to see converts! Thank you for being a part of bringing the gospel to those who have never heard!
AMEN!
Story #2
While in the village, many doors opened to share the good news. One of those was building the Huichol clean burning stoves. Many of the indigenous were suffering with black lung due to inhalation. The locals loved their new stoves so much that they didn't want to wait to use them before the clay way dry.
Below is Elijah's (a student) experience of revealing truth
through SOCCER & friendship:
"After working on the stoves everyday we would play soccer with the men of the village. I gave my testimony after the 10th day of soccer. My expectations were high to see God move on their hearts and He did! A man gave his life to Christ!
This crazy thing happened at the end of our time in the village. We were there for a month and when we were leaving on the last day I spoke to the new follower. I asked if he was reading the Bible and he said, “Yes!”. “Wonderful!” I thought, This was so awesome for me hear! He had never read the Bible before and he said he decided to start in Psalms! I asked if he had ever heard the scripture saying, “We will over come by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony.” He said he hadn’t. Excitedly I asked if he knew what it meant, expecting him to say no. To my surprise and amazement, what he said was absolutely from God. He said “Yes, the blood of the lamb is Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross.” I was so happy that the Holy Spirit was already revealing understanding to him. I then told him “Now it’s your testimony that can change your community!” Then when we had to say goodbye he said he had always wanted a friend like me which meant so much. However, the truth is he always wanted Jesus and I was able to be His hands and feet!"
